open ended photos

for my first image i decided to take a picture of my softball. I really like playing this sport so i thought it would be cool to take a picture of. I didn't really have to do anything to this picture but i did do a blur overlay which helped to bring back some of the bright colors that were lost when i took the picture.
This picture was taken in my backyard. There was a tree just covered in these flowers and i wanted to take a picture of it. I really like how in focus the flowers up close are ans how they get smaller and more blurred in the background. To add to this effect I kept the flowers up front the way they were but blurred the ones in the background. This made the attention and emphasis more on the flowers up front.

self portraits

for my first self portrait i used the sky. when i went out to take pictures the sky look really perfect that day so i wanted to take a picture of it. The sky represents my future and comes from the quote the sky is the limit. To this picture i did blur overlay but that made it look to fake so I lowered the opacity to make it look more real. For this picture I did a color balance and i also fixed a part on my necklace.

for this picture i decided to take a picture of my eye. I did this because the main part of this assignment was perspective and that is what i think of.

For this photo i used the song photograph. For this picture i spread photographs on the ground and then I stood behind her so that i was able to get the shadow in the picture. I wanted to use the shadow because the song is about a guy reflecting on memories and the good times he had. The shadow represents him right now and the pictures the memories and the past.

For this photo I used the song summer nights. For this picture i went more for the mood of the song rather than the lyrics themself. I wanted to capture the fact that the song is about relaxing and having fun with your friends in the summertime.

2 Portraits

For this picture I turned it to black and white for a different effect. I also used the sharpening effect on this picture to make it even stronger looking.

On this picture i did a blur overlay which made the bright colors come out even more. I also placed her so that the sun was somewhat behind her. This position made the sun really out line her and mainly her hair which i really liked.

Color Photos

Blue

Depression/ Sadness

The color blue represents sadness. The overall picture says sad, and i think that the color blue adds to that feeling. To this picture I saturated the background. I also used saturation on Arianna's shirt and her blue eyes to make them brighter and stand out in the picture more.

Yellow

Energy/ Happiness

Yellow is a very energetic and happy color when i see this picture it is what i think of. To this picture I saturated the background to make Karly standout more. I also made the Yellow in her shirt brighter and also the yellow lines on the ground brighter.

Green

Calming

When i think of green I think of the calming effect it has on people. I wanted to capture this in a picture. I liked the lighting because it was soft while still having a lot of light in the background. I also blurred this picture because i think it adds to the softer look/ feeling.

Yellow wallpaper

After reading The Yellow Wallpaper I could tell that this women was truly sad and depressed and even going mad after being forced to stay in this room. The only thing this women really has to think about is how ugly the yellow wallpaper in the room is. I wanted to include the ugly yellow color as well as the person mood. I also blured the edges of Marlee's hair and shirt so it seemed like the color was taking over her in a sence. I wish that i would have made the opacity more on Marlee so that I would get that effect more.

Attractive/ Repulsive

RepulsiveI used this as my repulsive picture. When you first look at this you see what looks like flowers and their bright colors. Although when you look at it longer you see that it is actually repulsive because of the fact that they are weeds and would be a pain. I did a color overlay on this picture to make the colors pop more.I chose this as one of my repulsive picture because you it is very old and grimy. This also has a butterfly on it and to a viewer such as me that makes the picture very repulsive. To this picture i lowered the saturation to lower how bright the colors were.

Attractive

I chose this picture for my attractive picture because i really liked how the plant looks. Although this used to be alive and really pretty it is dieing now. Even though it is dieing i really liked the way all the twigs intertwine together and for me it made it attractive. I used a color overlay on this picture.
For one of my attractive pictures I used my dog. Although she is old and very gray in the face she is still attractive. She may not be as attractive as she used to be but i still think shes attractive. I used color Overlay to help make the colors brighter.

Blur/Overlay

I took this picture because i really liked the ways the leaves looked. The picture before was pretty dark and dull. By using this filter the picture was brightened and the sunlight shining on them was more noticeable

I chose to do this filter to this image because i liked the colors to begin with. The colors were already bright and i really liked that. With using this filter the colors were made even brighter and more clear.

Filter the background

For this picture i wanted to use this filter because i wanted the main focus to be on the yellow flowers. The flowers in the middle of all of this brown brush and i liked how pretty the flowers are against it. By using this filter the flowers remain in focus while the background is blurred.
For this picture i wanted by favorite lower ( the lowest yellow one) to be the focus. By using this filter i was able to do that by making the background blurred while the yellow still in focus.

Neon Glow

The flower up close is the first thing you would originally see but i really liked how the sun hit the plant in the background and with the neon glow it really showcases this.

Again with this photo i really like the colors and by added the neon glow it added to that and made the colors stand out even more.

Easy Blur

I really liked both of these picture and the contrast between the dark branches and the light sky was really strong be using the easy blur i kind of toned down the strong contrast between the two. Overall it kind of gave it a little bit of a calmer look.
